Rustic Elegance Home Tour

When we purchased our home 11+ years ago it was builder grade with lots of carpet, tile and beige. We enjoy turning our little slice of suburbia into our dream home while remaining functional and practical. We hope to show you it is possible to create stylish and beautiful spaces fit for busy families on a small budget. Enjoy the tour!
One of our first projects was turning three small rooms (living, dining, family) into one large great room by knocking down a wall. This created a space that was 100% usable and functional which was so important for us, now the kids can run and be wild, not that I love that.
We turned the fireplace around so it became the focal point of our home, it originally was in the corner of our family room.
Our old living room became our dinning room and we opened up the bottom of the staircase and turned it into a small wine cellar
The Kitchen renovation was one of our biggest accomplishments. We went from builder grade to custom made with lots of paint, elbow grease and trim.
This is the before, yes they are the same cabinets just painted.
Sadly, our whole kitchen has to be torn down because of a unknown leak which lead to a horrible mold issue. We are currently in the process of planning out the new kitchen on a HUGE budget as our insurance will not cover a dime.
We added wood floors about a year ago which changed the whole look of our master bedroom.
The last few months we have been working hard at updating our dated bathroom with lots of paint, we are almost finished, stay tuned
Our loft is the perfect place for the boys to hang out, watch tv and play games. The other side is where I get all my work done.
We converted part of the garage into a Craft/mud/play room which has come in very handy. We built this wall unit out of two free shelves.
This is the guest bathroom which was rebuilt in 2011 after a fire caused by a unattended candle burnt the bathroom down.
We love to entertain and have made our backyard into an extension of the inside of our home.
Two of our boys share a room and our oldest has his own room.
