Privacy between neighbors

My backyard neighbor's driveway and garage are directly across from my outside veranda area. I feel the need to acknowledge them whenever I see them . I'm not some kind of crazy party throwing type and neither are they, I would just like a little privacy when I have people over. I am considering a cable across the back of the patio and the addition of some sort of curtain. I would love to be able to grow a natural barrier (vines or bamboo, or something of that sort) but I think that might take too long. Do you have any ideas on a polite screening type of division? Creative, of course.

I know how you feel! I am in the same situation. What I have done is hang a clothes line. I wound LED solar powered twinkly lights on the line and then found some gauzy cotton white panels, some white sheets and some white sheers and I simply pinned them on the line. I got the panels, sheets and sheers from a thrift store so uber cheap!

DO you have a photo of the area? You could put up lattes and plant morning glory.they grow pretty fast. The lattes will offer some privacy until your wall of flowers fill in.

How about lattice? You can grow plants on it if you want, you still have that 'privacy' and its not completely blocking ( don't wanna see you ) kind of feel. it comes in wood -that wears down quickly with time, but you can also get it in vinyl.. it stays pretty for a long time & its inexpensive

I've seen large containers with Lemon Grass used as privacy fences. They fill out and grow tall creating a natural privacy fence. And, you don't need permits! :)

I saw you on my post thought I'd check out yours if I had pictures of what your talking about I could without a doubt come up with a dozen ideas I used to do craft shows years ago, my back drop was a lattice French, I spray painted it royal blue then stone sprayed over the top then clear coat, then I took a rose lace material and spray glue to the lattice, I also made a two year step on each table for levels and display, along with royal blue satin for skirting trimmed in lace, made my booth look amazing . I gave the two lattice pieces 4 ft x 8 ft to my sister for privacy on her porch, couple eye hooks and a few plants and we created a new room. I did my side porch because of heat from sun you couldn't sit out there, see pictures. I would love to help with ideas, I love doing that stuff, I use to vacation to Florida every year for over 10 years, grandma had a condo, let me know

Grows extremely fast in season depending on what zone you’re in. Will also attract tons of hummingbirds to keep you entertained. Really hopes this helps! 💫💫 😉
