What can I do with this on an outdoor patio? It has holes on all four sides.

You can use it as an anchor for an outdoor umbrella or for two poles to create your own little volleyball net.

Plant strawberries if there is a way to keep the soil in, maybe plug up the bottom, add soilto level of first hole, plant and then continue to the top.

Lorna, when I finally got to see the pic, I agree with your solar lights or the antiquing and candle idea.  It is a very unique piece. Am sure she will find something interesting to do with it and yes, succulents a great idea!!!

I pretty much agree with all of the above. Succulents would be awesome though! But beware of the birdseed idea. Though great, you don't want the birds too close to your patio for obvious poop reasons. LOL
