My Desk Redo and Message Board DIY Study Area

I was wanting a desk area to do my Bible Journaling. Found this secretary on Craigslist and it was just what I needed....after a little paint, that is. Now I LOVE IT!
I had one of these that belonged to my mother, but I gave it to my daughter and she wouldn't give it back. So, hubby and I went on the 'hunt' for one.
We did a little sanding and adjusting. The hinges were loose
This is the inside after adding the material. I used Mod Podge on the desk and painted the little drawers. I plan on putting chalkboard paint on the writing surface next.
We used spray paint. Ivory and Green Apple. Bought the wooden decoration at Lowe's and put a new knob on it. I lined the drawers with material, as well as the inside of the desk.
This was an old wood picture frame a man from church gave me. We covered the old picture that was in it with the same material. I added a strip of burlap with lace and three rows of twine to attach pictures, notes, etc. on.
I still have to add a fabric flower in the corner. Can't decide on ivory or turquoise. May repaint the lamp too. I think it's a little too much green.
Enjoyed the project?
