Can't get coconut coir in California

Does anyone know why we can't get coconut coir in California? Last year I could get it a local Ace Hardware Store. This year the lady at the store said she can't order it. Both the chunky kind that worked for mulch and the really fine grind that was sold for hydroponics. I used the fine grind in my potting soil.

I don't know, Cindy. You can get coconut coir bricks right on Amazon and it doesn't say anything about not being able to ship them to California: http://www.amazon.com/Cocopeat-Coconut-Organic-Potting-Amendments/dp/B0029KHEJY
