Old Dresser to an Entry Bench

Found this old dresser and wanted to create something more interesting.
Before and after.
A solidly built dresser, but a little plain. What to do?
Nice drawers...Maybe a bench
If I cut out this side and build sides, it just could work.
I had to build a support for the seat and made a cushion but didn't like the way it looked.
So I made a different cushion that I like better.
Added the other one for a back and fell in love!

Are the drawers under the seat usable?

I would also consider making the seat cushion lift up on hinges to get to storage bins.

    • I Love this project! the post states that you are with the Hometalk Tutorial Team, so where is the Tutorial? There is no link to a blog or website and as a self taught DIYer I would need more guidance to take on your wonderful project for myself. Is there more info anywhere on this dresser/bench? I would love to give it a try!
