I am back again with another craft made from landscape edging. This time I was inspired to create a firecracker. I can't help myself, I really love creating Holiday craft projects.
I cut the little wood posts apart. Some of the edging has the metal post that goes in the ground. No problem, you can use it in a planter.
After removing the black plastic I sanded the finish off. Then I found a large drill bit to drill a hole on the top.
I started taping off so I could paint the bottom white. I used leftover chalk paint but any paint will do.
Once the white paint dried, I taped over it so I could paint the red stripes.
Then I taped the red stripe off so I could paint the top blue. Once that paint dried I used a star stencil to stencil stars around the landscape edging.
Once the paint dried I sanded them for a rustic look. I waxed the Firecracker without the post. The one with the post is protected with Polycrylic. The final step is to cut pieces of yellow rope and glue them into the hole that was drilled on the top. You're all set to enjoy these safe firecrackers.
