Windex and vinegar did not stop the ants in my house!

I saw a post on how to kill ants with Windex and vinegar. I tried this on ants and it did not work. The ants just walked through it. What can I do?

Have you tried equal parts of borax and powdered sugar? Place it in areas where pass through, they bring the mix to the nest, after a short time the nest will cease.

We're having an awful time with them this year, too. Use slivers of orange peel. They hate the smell for some reason. I've heard cornmeal works too, just sprinkle some on the counter.

Just a reminder; if you use borax and sugar --- a really effective approach --- just be very sure you put in in places where children and pets CANNOT get to it, since borax is poisonous to people and animals.

I use cinnamon - we usually have a really bad time with sugar ants (tiny ones) when they showed up this year, I sprinkled cinnamon (cheap stuff) along crevice; haven't seen trace of them since. Bonus - it's not toxic to children or pets & it smells good!

I was virtually invaded by black ants this year. I used corn meal and sprinkled it all around the house (right next to it) and inside my house, closets, bath, etc. They kept coming but they were dying left and right. Now I am only seeing a couple of them now and then. I think next year I will try cinnamon but I never figured out the point of entry.

Ants go to food sources. Drip a little honey outside where they enter and renew as needed. Don't leave food for them. For inside infestations, use FOOD GRADE diatomaceous earth. It is not harmful to anything but bugs. Dirtworks.net has it in stock. DO NOT buy any substitute. It could be toxic

If you happen to be an essential oil user, you could try this: This morning I used the peppermint spray remedy and it seems to have helped. We've had tiny ants for weeks, I will think they're gone and then they're back again. Tried the borax/boric acid with sugar and it didn't work. The peppermint spray is 8 oz. of water with 20 drops of peppermint essential oil ( I also added 20 drops of Tea Tree Oil and about 5 drops of Clove oil, but many of the recipes just used peppermint oil alone). Just sprayed it along the baseboards and anywhere I've seen the ants hang out. Smells great in here! :)

I make a homemade spray with equal amounts of vinegar, cheap bottled lemon juice and a big squeeze of dishwashing liquid. I use it to clean, and I spray any scout ants I see, and their scent trails with it. It kills them, and repels them briefly. I prefer it over the baiting method, because I found that I was seeing hundreds of them when I baited, and it didn't necessarily keep them away any longer. This keeps things in check. Vinegar on its own was not doing the trick.

rub Ketchup underneath your arm pits and walk around your house clucking like a chicken. Those ants will turn and walk right back from where they came

Cinnamon, Cinnamon and I can't express Cinnamon enough. I had ants for years and in every single room of my house. It was horrible, I tried everything. I finally went online for DIY. I tried several things before coming to plain ole Cinnamon.

Being desperate, I just sprinkled some on my kitchen counter and put some on the same counter in a small dish. Within TWO DAYS my hundred billion ant roommates were finally evicted. I left the cinnamon out for two weeks and after I put it away, NO MORE ANTS. I HAVE NOW BEEN ANT FREE FOR ALMOST FIVE YEARS.

CINNAMON, CINNAMON, SOMETHING SO EASY, AMAZING!!!!
