Fruit Fly Trap
Looking to learn how to get rid of fruit flies? Here's an easy, simple way to trap them. Drop a slice of banana into an empty fruit jar, poke a hole in the bottom of a paper cone-cup (I used an ice pick to open a hole in the bottom of the cup but you could snip the end off with scissors......just don't make the hole too big or the fruit flies will get out), then screw the fruit jar lid (without the sealing disk) on and start your own fruit fly collection. (How you dispose of them is up to you).

I imagine you could also make a "cone" out of scrap paper.

Or if you don't have the everyday paper cone lying around your house, which im sure many of us dont, you could stretch plastic wrap over the ball jar and screw the ring down to keep it stretched tight. Poke a few holes in the plastic wrap with a toothpick and the flies will get in but not be able to get out.
you could use any type of fruit in the jar as well. Just make sure it is opened up. A piece of peeled banana, a slice of apple, a couple orange segments. Just not a whole banana unpeeled. Cider vinegar works well too and easier to dispose of with all the dead flies
