With the hope of keeping the play room or, I made those shelves with paint buckets. It's easy, economic to do, and it gives a place to store smalls items. In case yo still have some buckets left after making the shelving you can also try to make this DIY side table.

Clean and remove the label of the bucket, cut the top part (using a handsaw or a jigsaw...be careful). Paint the outside with a special plastic paint. Spray paint for outdoor plastic furniture will work great.

To be able to fix it on the wall, make two holes on the back and strengthen it by gluing a piece of wood.

Mark the place of the hole on the wall and fix your bucket with with screws and plugs. And done! You can place several in a row, and ready to store small items. Buckets are great items to recycle, you can have a look at this stylish stool made from an other plastic bucket!

You can find more picture and a Spanish translation of the tutorial on my blog.

This is something I could see I would use in my craft room to hold scissors, paint brushes, colored pens/markers. Paint them alike or different colors.

    Thanks for sharing.
