Repurposed Candle Holder to Solar Holder

Make a nice decoration for your patio table, side table, etc. It's even an inexpensive gift idea.

You'll need a single taper candle holder and a glass fixture from a candle holder. I found both of mine at ARC Thrift Store for .50 each.

You'll need some E6000 - mine came from Walmart

After cleaning both pieces of glass, I glued the glass fixture into the candle holder with the E6000 and let dry 24 hours.

I pulled apart a solar light from the Dollar Tree - you could still use a candle if you wanted instead.

Put the solar light in the fixture and you're done, instant solar candle holder.

This is another one I made. I added some of the glass rocks from Dollar Tree to this one.

You can keep it for yourself or give it away as a gift!

I'll be making this and more solar things on Hometalk's Facebook Live show on Friday, March 10th at 7pm EST. Hope to see you there! https://www.facebook.com/Hometalk

What about the Rain... wouldn't the top fill with rain and possibly ruin the light?

My question is this.... what happens when it rains, won't the glass fill with water and then the solar light will end up floating or getting ruined?
  • Will indirect light work or should it be in direct sun? Love this idea.
