How do you repair chaise lounge fabric??

I can't bear to throw these frames away...just have not figured out how to repair. Any ideas would be considered. thanks.

They have replacement slings for those chairs..read on line for instructions first..I was going to replace some but it was not much more to replace the chair.I never got around to it but after i read the how to i was going to use the old cloth for a pattern and use canvas for the cloth..Like i said the install directions are on line..Compare the cost first would be my advise to you..

Your chaises can certainly be re-slung. You can do it yourself if you're handy or take them to a local patio store. I bought ones that looked about like that for $20 each on Craigslist. As Gail says, it didn't end up being hugely cheaper, but it does allow you to get exactly the fabric you want.

We attempted this a couple years ago and I regretted putting the time and effort into the project. Once we wrestled the covers off and then new ones on, they were nearly impossible to get them installed back into the frame. You can order new slings, which are pricey, but I'm thinking you'd still have the same problem getting them installed into the frame.

@Kathy thanks for posting. I have this problem with some bar chairs which are not that easy to find these days. Not sure what I will do yet, but at least your responses have provided great guidance. If you replace your slings, let us know how it turns out.

@Douglas Hunt Oh how I envy your lovely yard!! Mine is a disaster right now because of the inside reno. But just you wait Mr. Hunt! I'll get to the back and front yards (maybe) in the next few years LOL!!!!

I have a swing that had the same kind of material and my dog chewed it and my son cut it so badly we couldn't sit on it. So my husband cut me a piece of plywood and used "self drilling" screws to attach it directly onto the metal frame. It actually sits better now. I am making stuffed cushions from outdoor fabric so I can bring in the cushions each time so they do not get wet. I also found the replacement webbing to be very pricey.

@Kathy I bought the chaises off of Craiglist and had them reslung at a local patio store. As others have said, it's not necessarily the cheapest way to go, but I can't see dumping your chaises in a landfill every time the slings wear out.

my thought is....weaving them with thick nylon cord. Several years ago I remember seeing at flea markets metal chairs that were stripped and rewove with cord bearing colligate logos. They look really easy to make and I myself have 2 chairs in which the slings have rotted away and like you I don't want to throw them away because the frames are still good! So I have this idea that the cord may work fine. it would be worth a shot as I am sure it would be much cheaper then buying the new slings....easier too!!

I have 2 outside bar chairs. I was able to get material off of one of them. Where can I get material for this chair and instructions for inserting it back in the grooves. It's all one piece.

Kathy I'm in the process of reupholstering my patio chairs very similar to yours except not a sling but I brought some waterproof fabric from Amazon that is very strong and reasonably priced you may want to try it you can buy it by the yard and it has a rubber looking backing. If you send me your email I will send you pics . Don't know how to put them on here sorry.
