Chalk paint on seat cushions

I noticed in a recent post that some of you have had good results using chalk paint on pillows. Has anyone tried using it on patio chair cushions? Would it rub off, or get on your clothes? We have cushions on our patio chairs that are in good condition, but have an outdated pattern. I would love to try the chalk paint if it is a permanent solution.

I wouldn t do it. What if you want to wash them?

I don't think patio cushions are intended to be washed. Experienced chalk paint users applied a coat of wax, if I remember correctly

IThank you for the suggestions but this doesn't answer my question because I need to know if the chalk rubs off on clothing. It sounded promising since people were painting pillows, so it seemed logical that cushions could be painted as well. We have never washed patio cushions, we just hose them.

If you seal it with chalk paint wax, it should not rub off.
