Looks like Rose of Sharon, I have single stems (just like this one) sprouting up every where, after transplanting a few I had gotten from my mom a few years ago.

I don't know what it is but I think it's pretty interesting . I would just let it keep growing and see what happens. The leaves are very interesting .

If you google Rose of Sharon or Hibiscus, then click IMAGES, you will see many types of leaves, just as Sue Kiene says above. Yours looks just like one type.

I too have Rose of Sharon, and it looks like a pink single hybrid I have. I have propagated the seeds for friends in my greenhouse and this looks exactly like the one I have. Just potted one that was growing in my veggie garden in the stones outside of the raised beds. It does look different than the double blossom bushes when I have propagated those from seeds or start plants. I also have tried to propagate from a white bush I have and NO Luck
