In my opinion I would match the color of the shutters to brighten up the house.

If this is the picture of your house, I would consider something a little more fun such as an eggplant or aubergine, or possibly a medium to dark blue

Hello , why not consider painting the shutters and door a dark inky blue (almost black) and paint your trim white to match your windows and pillars out the front.

Consider black trim and shutters with black planters filled with colorful flowers.

Its hard to tell the true color of the house, It looks grey. If that's correct I'd use a deep plum.. If the color is a light tan with the brown you said as trim, I'd go with terra cotta to rust color..for the shutters and a bright punch of the same palate several shades lighter for the door .. If daring try a golden for the door. Same intensity just lighter and brighter

I think I would paint all that brow out with the same color as the house to eliminate the look of being outlined with a pencil look. Then paint the shutters and door a dark cranberry and leave the posts white!

I would go with White Trim and a Cheery Yellow or Lighter Blue, think of Brown as a Neutral -when you add a bright Color the brown is just a contrast.. need some wild color to draw eye to house.. Just my thoughts..

Your home looks more gray? Make it pop for that curbside appeal. Use a dark sophisticated purple. Set up planters in the same color.

My house is gold and I also have a brown roof. I painted the front door orange and love it! Our trim is something called antique gold, and it has a rusty orange tone.

Try a medium green with gray undertones i.e. BM Provincial Park. I would also tone down the bright white with something more of a winter white. Good luck.

Our home was light beige w/brown roof and we painted the trim a dark blue green. This was the 70's so maybe not the best color scheme, but I have fond memories of it.

Get some paint samples in colors you like from your paint store. Try them out, and see which one you like and looks the best. Sometimes it is surprising.

My siding is the same color as yours, but my trim is white and so are the gutters. I too was thinking of painting the shutters black and doing the doors red. Looking for thoughts as to whether you think this would work with the white trim? Also did you paint the inside of the door red too?
