Ideas for Henry Link dressers from the "Margaux" collection

Hi,
I have had these two Henry Link pieces from the "Margaux" collection for about 30 years. I have seen many pieces restored from the "Bali Hai" and "French Provencial" collections, but I can't seem to find any information or ideas for my particular pieces. I have two questions:
1. Does anyone have any information on this particular collection?
2. Should I leave them as is or turn them into a DIY project?
I am very new to all of this and I love these two pieces. My parents purchased them for me around 1984-1986 and I have passed them down to my daughter. They just don't seem like they go with her bedding and decor. We are also in the process of a remodel, and I'm not sure if I have room for both pieces. Any ideas, information, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

When I saw these 2 pieces, my heart did a flip! I am partial to beautiful wood pieces...so for me, I would keep them as is. If she does not want them in her room, relocate them to another part of the house. How about using them in the dining room as storage space for those infrequently used pieces? Even vases can be stored by displaying them on top or making cardboard storage boxes to fit in the drawers (easily done with tape). Sit a small bench between the 2 of them...make one to fit. Even good to store blankets, keepsakes and memories in. I have even seen these sitting across a corner behind chairs in a living room. The finish on these 2 pieces are too beautiful to paint...you would never be able to get back the patina.

Put attachments on the back to hang this mirror and put it in a entryway, down a hallway or in a bathroom! A beautiful mirror is pretty in any room!

A five drawer dresser sold on Ebay for $200. The dresser and mirror sold on 5miles for $195. I would turn them into a DIY project.

id leave them as is, polish well and wait for the chalk paint craze to die, as it will. In a short while they'll be writing and photographing about how to restore your beautiful old pieces to their original glory... Like skinny and flair jeans, it all comes around again! I can hear your daughter saying, "thanks Dad for keeping these for me as is,, now I'm taking them back!"

I think the piece with the mirror would be great in the entry- the mirror makes a nice "quick check-out the door"! The small hankie drawers could come in handy. Def would not paint-these are too pretty for the diy paint craze.

My father who is 86 has refinished and built all kinds of this he says never paint ! Paint is a fad he says keep the wood cleaned so it does not dry. And enjoy

I agree with your dad...Things are fads, but real wood and real antiques, I keep as is or restain it the color I like, which is usually a rich dark pieces like these are..then I will paint, use my drapes or whatever else I want that is not so sentimental and re-purpose those, to make my antiques POP! Here in CO wood can dry out so fast..I heard a old remedy for keeping it cleaned and oiled is Mayonnaise...Yep, rub on and then off...there is no smell..I thought there would be,but there is not..

IF it were me, I would keep them as they are. They are beautiful..and you never know if the chalk painting and re'do's are just a fad...I love real wood and if this is real wood and since it was handed down to you, I would keep as is and repurpose other things around it..My real good antiques and solid wood pieces I keep as is...I don't want to do a chalk or something else that I will pass down then they will have to restrip it down to the orginal wood, but that is ME..Is is whatever you like..

I own a large bedroom set of this style. I would be very interested in purchasing a few of the handles if you are doing a DIY project on them.

Mary or Peggy - I have been searching for just 1 of these drawer pulls for several years! If you know of anywhere I can obtain one, I'd truly appreciate the information. I purchased this set in 1981 for my daughter, and now am handing down to her daughter, but missing a drawer pull on the desk. :(
