Ways to Disassemble a Pallet

When using pallets for your projects, you will find that pallets are usually sturdily built and sometimes hard to disassemble. Hammer and Pry Bar Method - One option is to manually remove the nails. To do this, the best tools to use are a pry bar and a hammer. A pry bar to wedge between and seperate the top slats of the pallet from the bottom rail pieces and then the claw of the hammer to remove the nails.   • I used my neighbors pry bar tool and the pallets came off super easy.. Still a lot of work though, but hey at least I'm getting some exercise!! Today I bought a nice pry bar for $5.99 at Harbor Freight.. I love taking pallets apart!! The one I pulled apart today was kind of damp from the rain, but I gotto tell u guys the boards came off so easily!!! Now on to making some school stuff!!

    What if the nails have screw type shafts they are very hard to remove. I use a scissor car jack be Thay have them in the UK don't know about the US.tween the wood to prise the wood apart on tough ones but doesn't work on screw shaft nails.
