Normal behavior. Male flower appear first...and fall off. Female flowers will appear in a week or two (along with male flowers), pollination will occur and you'll have squash!

Yay...thank you, Walter. We are looking forward to the squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Our neighbors are watching closely, lol.

You might try contacting your County Agent, or a college that "specializies" in plants, in Texas we have A&M College and Master Gardeners. Very disheartening to see this happen.

What kinds of nutrients are you adding to the soil? In my opinion they look a bit under nourished. Calcium can do a lot to also improve stem development and general health for metabolizing available nutrient. I recommend and organic tomato/veg food like EB Stone or Dr. Earth at a minimum if you haven't already. Calcium can be provided in the form of Lime, oyster shell or even ground up egg shells.

I've used the ground egg shells to stop blosson end rot on tomatoes. Works very well.

Good to know! My tomatoes are doing well so far in my straw bale garden but I am still absorbing all the information I can.

It sounds normal to me - vegetable blossoms are supposed to fall off. Walter (from Georgia) is correct.
