What is the best way to propogate woody plants?

I have tried & failed at this several times in the past. This time I am using a rooting hormone, 50/50 mix of peat & Hyponex potting soil. i am also - trying to root cutting from my Azalea bushes. How should I take care of these pots, to ensure my success?
I have started with a few cuttings from this varigated.
As well as some from this one.
Coated damped stems with Rootone. Poked a whole in the soil mixture, insserted the stems & pressed the soil in around them & watered. NOW What do I do?

I found great instructions here: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-propagate-semi-ripe-stem-cuttings There is a video as well as a transcript. I tried it with blueberry bushes and they are doing great!
