I use Castrol Super Clean degreaser. I buy it by the gallon in the automotive department at WalMart and not the spray bottle as it is much cheaper in the end and I use it for many things.

I use Purple Power degreaser also at Walmart or auto store. It is $5.00 per gallon and this stuff really works. I spray it on full strength, let it sit a while, then clean if off with water. If the vents are removable, stick them in the dishwasher.

TSP, used per instructions, for walls, rinse well; Dawn dish soap for vents, full strength, may need to let stand a bit

If your looking for for a more natural way . And no harmful fumes . Then do this . Mix . Hot water and vinegar 50/50 add 2 3 tbls of baking soda . And 5 to 6 drops of essential oil , I like lemon or orange. With a tbls of blue dawn . Will not harm walls , paint or range hood . I use it on all of these . And no rinsing needed .

I use greased lighting, but if you want to go with natural products, alcohol cuts grease, too.

    Pine-o-pine works too.

Vegetable oil will remove the grease build up. I know it sounds crazy but it works. I put some on a soft cloth and rubbed down my kitchen cabinets, then went over them with a rag soaked in warm water and Dawn dish soap and they were like new.
