If you’re a cat parent, ensuring a comfortable, healthy, and entertaining environment is the ultimate goal for your pet. If your cat is already spoiled with tons of toys and treats, cat grass is a fun and healthy item to add to your cat’s living environment! 🐈 🪴 💖
My sister asked if I would be able to make her a pallet daybed for her entertainment area. She wanted the daybed to be big enough for 2 people to sit comfortably on and wanted it to be sturdy. Her entertainment area is sheltered but when we get heavy rain it does get wet. That is why she chose to have the daybed made from pallets.
Each spring I do a big landscaping update to the mulched bed sections of our front yard. I always have to wait until Mother’s Day for the maple helicopters to stop falling (we get a ton) before I can get started raking them up.This year I started the big project on Mother’s Day and ended up spending seven hours on the first day. Sometimes I like doing manual labor, ha!This is the before we were working with. One year old washed out mulch, overgrown lily patches, all the helicopters, and some random weeds.
I love to transform unwanted and damaged items of a vintage nature by breathing new life into them and when I saw this piece of slate on a string in local charity shop thought it would be a great item to be decorated and be durable for the garden .
In a season where you’re already breaking the bank on presents and parties the last thing you want to do is spend more money to decorate your house, which is why I love this project so much! You won’t believe what this cute little tree is made from!
I wanted to do a hall tree unlike any I had ever come across. We have various sizes of these industrial spools that we do lots of things with. I suddenly knew what I wanted to do and when I told my husband, I got his usual response of "huh?". Boy am I glad he went on this journey with me and so is he!!!
Avocados have become an extremely popular menu item in recent years. At the same time interest in growing avocado trees has risen, as well. While the indoor trees may not bear fruit, they make wonderful houseplants. There’s no need to visit the garden center to purchase a starter plant or even a seed. With a pit from your next healthy meal, you can grow your very own avocado tree in no time and for free.
I am big on recycling and repurposing things. I'm always willing to think outside the box. Traditional Christmas trees are naturally beautiful and smell amazing. And yes, I do opt for a real tree every year. But this year I wanted to add to my Christmas decoration something that was a little different. I had been seeing pictures online of these crazy expensive "stick trees" that cost way to much. I mean I loved the concept, just not the price. I guess this year I was in a bit of a Charlie Brown spirit given the new Peanuts movie. I also wanted to incorporate some metal into the make of the tree to give it an industrial flare. So using some scrap wood I gathered in my workshop I created my own "scrap wood tree." It saved me on having to go in the backyard and look for twigs...I mean seriously, it's cold out there ;)
A Christmas tree is probably the most popular Christmas symbol, don't you think? We always cut ours fresh from a farm each year, but this year I decided to start a project that will take some time and creativity: adding additional faux DIY trees to every room of our house.
On another one of my thrifting trips to Second Chance Thrift Store, which seems to be daily lately. I found this super cute little tray, it was plain and boring but I had an idea! Right before I stopped at the thrift store I was at Ocean State Job Lots (a discount store here on the East Coast) and I found these Patriotic paper placemats, it had 4 different Patriotic designs. I had never even heard of such a thing, how did I not know about paper placemats?! They are so fun and can be used for so many things! Did you know about them? I knew that I wanted to add one of these placemats to my thrifted tray! Let’s get started on this DIY thrifted flag tray!
I am so excited to share these DIY hexagon shelves that I’ve been in love with & have seen all over the internet but anything I could buy wasn’t deep enough for me. I wanted to be able to stick 6″ pots into each nook, so I came up with the idea of these oversized hexagon shelves so I’d have an excuse to buy more plants! LOL

I've never been brave enough to repaint my kitchen cabinets (they're dark but only a few years old). However, an opportunity recently presented itself when I inherited some free cabinets from a neighbor. The plastic laminate was peeling in places but the cabinets themselves were in excellent shape. They'd be great for storing power tools and project supplies in the garage. Plus, did I mention they were free? Here's how they looked on the listing...

I was asked by a friend if I could give a small vanity she was given a makeover. It was not in the best of shape and was missing the mirror and a knob for one of the drawers.I knew I had some chalk paint in my workshop that would be suitable for this vanity. She did not want anything fancy, so this project is not as unique as other projects you will find on my website. My idea was to paint the vanity using chalk paint and I would add some wallpaper to the drawers as a feature.
I realized the other day when organizing my holiday decor, that I only had a sad little box of patriotic decorations. I decided that I needed to add some more red, white & blue decor. Here I will show you how I turned a pair of American Flag Swim Trunks into an easy DIY USA sign.
Raised garden beds seem to be the in thing in gardening these days and there are lots of options out there to purchase but they are pricey . A 4x4 bed averages around $50, and let's face it that's not alot of space for a garden. My mom wanted to expand her raised bed this year and after searching for decent size ones and not finding any reasonably priced I decided to make my own. I remembered seeing roofing panels a lifetime ago when you could actually go into a store... Still not open here in Ontario Canada. Anyhow at the time I thought that would make an awesome raised bed. So I did some online shopping/ curbside pickup and got me a some roofing panels.
I bought a Tulip style table base at an auction years ago for $5. Like many of my project ideas, it sat in my garage until I could figure out how to make or get a table top. I absolutely wanted the table to be thin, or at least appear to be very thin, like the OG Saarinen tables.
This project was so much fun to make! I love anything Patriotic/Americana, and what is more Patriotic than Uncle Sam?! I had some wood laying around from other projects, so I thought I would put together a Uncle Sam Porch Sitter. He turned out AMAZING!
I’m so excited as I write this, I have asked my hubby for years to help me make one of these. I’ve saved windows I’ve picked from the side of the road. Some of these I’ve had 10 years. I promise I’m not a hoarder, Okay I might be of old chippy items! But can you blame me? Don’t really answer that!
In an effort to create some much needed storage for my children's bedroom that is also pretty, I updated an old dresser by adding Photowall's amazing wallpaper to it. This step-by-step blog post featuring picture and video tutorials showcases how to add wallpaper to an old Ikea dresser to create a custom and beautiful piece of furniture!
I was browsing online the other day for new planters, and I came across this awesome one from Target. However, it was over $350 for a set of three! I couldn’t believe it. I also would never spend that much on planters. A few days go by, and I can’t stop thinking about how cute they were. So I set out to see if I could create a DIY two-tone planter myself.See how I created a similar version of this two-toned wicker planter using only a few supplies.
ProcrastinationBack when my brother was still a bachelor, I helped him get rid of a few things that were cluttering up his basement. One of those things was an old steel bed spring that had been left there by the former owner. Judging by its size, it was probably from a child’s bed.I thought it would make a fun garden trellis if I painted it, so I took it home. I stashed it behind some bushes along our driveway fence – just temporarily, of course, until I had the time to paint it.That was about 10 years ago.Earlier this summer, when Chris rebuilt our driveway fence, he came across the bed spring – still sitting, unpainted, where I’d left it. The steel had rusted over the years, and the rust looked (to me, at least) more interesting than any type of paint.Sometimes it pays to procrastinate.
Stenciling a Floor sounds like a great idea, right? It's easy, super affordable compared to new flooring and relatively durable (if you do it right). What could possibly go wrong? Our house was built in 1997 and as such the tile flooring screams 90's! After scrolling Pinterest (where else are great ideas born?) I decided to take the plunge and paint the bathroom floors. But I wanted to do it the right way, so I purchased the rustoleum kit and supplies. After a week of procrastinating I got my painting clothes on, played Netflix on my phone and went to work.
I finally got around to doing something about my curtains. I found these at the thrift store years ago and gave them a makeover, but was ready for a change. We moved the furniture around in my room and we now have a fireplace under the window. The fireplace will be getting a makeover soon also, so any ideas are welcome! I wanted curtains that would close over the fireplace and that’s when these DIY Romantic Ruffle Curtains were created!

In this post I will show you how to get a vintage finish on painted furniture. There are several applications that you could use to achieve an antique look, however there is one that i find to be the easiest.
...okay remember my post on my linen closet organization? Well I promised a post on how I made my shelf covers and here it is.We only have one linen closet in my small house and it was CRAMMED. Not at all functional. So I got to work organizing it- for a reminder you can see that post here. And also as a reminder- here is the before of my terrible linen closet.
I have no idea what made me decide to make a wreath with a tail, or shaped this way, but I just didn’t want to do the same old thing. I kind of think this wreath was a cross between a wreath and a swag.I would love to have you stop by my blog , Celebrate & Decorate for more details as well as sign up for my latest creations, posts, recipes, exclusives, and more...
