My trumpet vine just bloomed last year for the first time. It was 8 maybe 9 years old. Don't give up hope!!

My understanding as well is that it can take five for seven years for them to flower. I just planted one a few months ago and certainly hope I don't have to wait that long, though.

They are very invasive. Be careful where you plant them!

Yes, they are VERY invasive!!!! I have them coming up in my lawn, and all of the flower beds around them. I'm thinking I'm going to have to get rid of them, but now the question is, HOW!!!!

My info on trumpet vine is to treat it poorly. Don't fertilize it and water it sparingly. I agree with Madelyn. I had to dig mine out because it was pulling over my arbor. Now I have it coming up all over.
