5 Things You Didn't Know You Can Clean in a Dishwasher

I don’t know about you, but I have definitely not been using my dishwasher to its full potential!
There are so many things that you could be cleaning in your dishwasher that have nothing to do with dishes. It may seem strange at first, but just look at how much cleaner you could be...
How exciting is this? I can save cleaning time and get my items really scrubbed spotless.
1. Toys

You probably aren't cleaning those kids toys as much as you should be, anyway, but after toys have been outside or after play dates, a good cleaning is definitely in order. All toys that don’t have fabric parts or batteries in them can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
2. Pet Supplies

Just about anything that goes in your pet's mouth can (and probably should!) go in the dishwasher. Just like us people, pets cover their food and water dishes in germs that can attract and build-up bacteria, so a deep cleaning isn't only helpful but necessary!
3. Light Fixtures

If your noticing some dust build-up on your fixtures, there's no need to groan - just pull them down and load them into your dishwasher. All the dusty glass parts of your lights can be scrubbed by your dishwasher, instead of your hands.
4. Flip Flops

Shoes may often feel beyond cleaning, but you can actually add a little more life (and brightness) to your tired summer flip flops by popping them in the dishwasher. Perfect timing, cause mine were just starting to look dull!
5. Hair Brushes

Hair brushes rarely get the kind of cleaning they should, and especially during the summer, when kids are at camp, playing for hours outdoors, and taking trips to the beach, it's a good idea to make sure brushes are being cleaned regularly.
Surprised? I was, too. The dishes are going to have to wait their turn, because it's time for some deep cleaning!

I put my gas range racks from the top of the stove in the dishwasher. It does a great job cleaning them!
