Farmhouse Bathroom Using IKEA Products

We recently added a completely NEW bathroom to our basement--meaning, there was no bathroom there; just an empty storage space and lots of work to do to install a bathroom. You can imagine the mess it was cutting through concrete for plumbing and sewer lines. I couldn’t wait to get to the fun details like decorating and styling.
Since I was the designer and project manager on this room I get to call the shots. So, I decided to do a farmhouse bathroom theme because I love the character and feel of the farmhouse look. There is just something about a farmhouse that is homey and inviting. I like to think this farmhouse bathroom has a modern feel.
Don't you just love this shower curtain? I purchased it here (affiliate) http://amzn.to/2aZCeP6. It is one of my favorite shower curtains I've ever purchased. It is a very shabby chic/farmhouse look and quite the quality shower curtain!!

The flowers in the galvanized container are a beautiful touch too!
I have included a list on my blog post of where I purchased all the products in this bathroom. IKEA’s products were mainly used to decorate and style the bathroom. Walking through IKEA to see what new products they have is always gratifying. To see what can be used for a farmhouse look was just plain fun!!

To create the farmhouse look, I used whites, warm whites, grays, galvanized metals and worn wood decor with touches of greenery. I love using neutral colors in my home. Neutrals are timeless and easily renewed with different pops of color.
Weathered wood is very expensive; and done naturally, it takes time. I have found an excellent way to weather wood without the extravagant time or cost! I have used this method with other home projects too because it works so well and looks very authentic.

Check out our blog for a more in-depth look as to how this beautiful bathroom came about! I have a tutorial on the wood planks mounted on the wall shown above, and reveal a closer look at all the fun decor I used to get the farmhouse look.
