I have a Moen Single Handle Pull-out kitchen faucet that the water comes out very slow. Both shut-off valves are wide open. How can I fix it will the water will come out faster? There are no kinks in the hose.

This response does not answer my question on why my Moen faucet has just a thin stream of water when I have to problem with pressure in other parts of my home.
  • Check the aerator on the faucet tip. If you look at the part where the water comes out, there should be a round part that unscrews out of the center. Inside this is a tiny screen of sorts along with some plastic parts. This gets plugged often in homes with hard water, or perhaps a faulty well or failing hot water heater. in any case if the other faucets are working ok, that is the issue your having. You can Google your faucet to find out how to change or remove this part. Or simply take a photo of the side of the faucet where the water comes out and post it here. We can offer advice on how to once we know exactly what faucet it is that you have.

There are, usually, at least the aerator screen as already mentioned but, there may also be a "restrictor" screen somewhere in the faucet. I would remove the unit and look for that second unit. Or, just soak the entire thing in a lime/rust remover (examp: CLR) overnight to see it that helps. There is something plugging up the flow...you may also try to "blow out" with an air compressor from the output, back into the input side (where it connects to water source).

The aerator in my Moen faucet is where the spay nozzle and faucet base meet. I have to unsrew the hand held part but be carefull as you do this because the hose will retract an you will need to catch it before it slide out of sight.
