Make a Pot Rack Using a Drapery Rod.

I wanted a pot rack "on the cheap", and one that matched my existing decor.
When I started looking for a pot rack, I couldn't find any that were a simple design and that fit in with my kitchen style. I really loved my coordinating light fixtures and drapery rods throughout the house, so I decided to use the same rod to build a pot hanger that would carry the theme into the kitchen.
I screwed 2" eye hooks into ceiling joists to support the length of the rod I needed, then inserted the drapery rod and placed curtain rings over the rod to hold pot hangers, since the pot hangers wouldn't fit over the width of the rod. Since I wanted to match the black of the drapery rod, I first painted all the rings and hangers with matte black spray paint.
This hanging rack easily supports the weight of several pots and pans, although at this time I'm hanging utensils and vegetable bins. (You can see in the background that we are in the process of replacing tiled counters and backsplash!)
