DIY WOODEN SHAPES PUZZLES

2 Materials
These DIY wooden shapes puzzles are one of those quick crafty projects you can knock out in an afternoon. If you have toddlers that still nap, this is the perfect project to slot in to that ‘precious’ you time. These puzzles are also a fun way to teach young children how to recognise their shapes as well as their colours!
These shapes puzzles actually kept my son happily occupied for more than his usual 10 min attention span .

MATERIALS USED:

Manual Saw but if you have a Milter saw even better!

Wooden scrap blocks

Acrylic paint

Painters tape

Pencil

Clear varnish/poly

Sander or Sand Paper

Artisit paint brush

H0W TO:

-These wooden pieces were left over materials from my DIY roll out pantry that the hubby and I had built a while back.
- I sanded them down first and then I drew shapes to the centre of each wooden block.

I went with 7 shapes that I knew my son was currently learning at nursery (pre-school). Square, circle, pentagon. diamond, heart, triangle and rectangle. You should hear the way he says pentagon, it is just the cutest!

- I then used tape to section it all off to ensure the paint lines would be sharp and clear
Then I painted in various colours.
I sealed with varnish once dry and cut each piece into 4!
