Improving a Small Bathroom Window

My original window undressed.
My window in my small Master Bathroom was not at all attractive. Plus, I needed the light but also some kind of covering. So, what do you do? My solution was this.
I took out the screen (which is on the inside of the window - my windows are old) and covered it with an ecru lace panel. I hot glued this to the metal frame.
Then the fun began! I adhered with fabric glue all kinds of vintage doilies and lace pieces. I put it back in the window with the screws that attached it and TA DA - so much better. I am redoing this bathroom which has vintage pink tile. Right now, I'm trying to work with the pink by using neutrals. More to come.

Enjoy!

I'd like an idea about what to do with a bathroom window in the shower! I can't figure out how to keep the wood around the window from getting wet or rotting!
