Not a lemon cuke. We have 4 bushes in our garden of lemon cukes. It looks alot like a Pumpkin. But if you only had squash or cuke seeds, then I would say its a squash. The stem is too large for a cuke,
looks like a lemon cuke to me - saw one for the first time last week!
definitely not a lemon cuke with that stem. Something in the squash family.
Based on the stem its a squash, cucumbers have thinner stems and less 'hearty' attachments
looks like a pumpkin
Looks like a patty pan squash.
It's a round yellow squash. Here's an example: http://www.johnnyseeds.com/p-6662-floridor-f1.aspx If you didn't plant that kind on purpose, maybe your seeds had mixed parentage.
its a lemon squash, we grew them this year~
Not a lemon cucumber or patty pan squash!!! Lemon cukes have a thin stem & are prickly on the outside of the fruit. Patty Pan squash are aka scallop squash, are whitish green & look like a flying saucer with bumps all around the edge. http://www.specialtyproduce.com/produce/Lemon_Cucumbers_3844.php
My guess would be some sort of squash because of the stem. There is a round zucchini on the market now. Maybe there is also a round variety of yellow squash????? Was the plant a volunteer or did you save seed from last year? if so it could be a cross. Squash cross pollinate readily.
you know.... you could just cut it open to see....
not mine to cut open a friend posted it on FB so I told her I would ask my Hometalk peeps :) @Cathy W
Looks exactly like a squash I just bought. I was told it was a type of summer squash. Very seedy and will not buy another.
Linda, when all else fails...........! Someone knows. Tell friend to open it! That should answer her/his question! but... I vote for baby squash!
A yellow squash or a young pumpkin...
The cucumber vine is a lot smaller around than squash, or pumpkin.
