I found the dark finishing wax on Amazon. I live in a small community where it might also not be found. I am so making my own chalk paint. Thank you from the bottom of my old upcycling self.

I just came across 2 sections of a picket fence made out of pallet wood. First thought oh yea that would be great to put in my rose garden, sand it and paint it, then I seen a old chair that someone refurbished and I love the look I want look on my fence, so I did some reach last night, and found the chalk paint everything Im seeing is for interior, I want to chalk paint for outside projects,This is my first project I know nothing about this. Heres some of my questions.!. I see where flat plaint is used a lot, Do I use a flat paint out side? or wax? I also see know primer is not needed when chalk painting is that correct? When painting metal (2nd project) for outside to) I had already bought paint for this project but its a Anti Rust paint/ oil based paint. How do I make my outside chalk painting weather proof? I also tried getting the recipe for the chalk paint (above) and the link doesn't seem to work. So excited to get my fence done! Thanks for your time! Happy Painting..Penny
