My First Copper Twist Project

Wardo
by Wardo
In the beginning I just looked around the garage for something to wrap it around. I think this was a 1/2" spade bit.
The outside wrap was easy enough, but I didn't trust the wire to stay wrapped where it ended so I put a couple touches of solder on to make sure everything stayed together
The tree was made from a smaller gauge wires as you can see. I used the wrapped wire from a cistern sump pump. It was the right size and was a nice soft texture to work with.
And I kept wrapping......
A dark pic but this is after 8 hours of wrapping. I know it sounds like a lot but that's how long this little bugger took to make.
This is the finished project after adding a little patina. I think the stone is a hematite. It was a fun project. I gave it my wife for our wedding anniversary number 22.
