DIY Tall Candlesticks Made From a Baluster!

I love the look of really tall candlesticks, but hate the price that usually comes with them! I decided to try to make my own with a little help from my husband! We grabbed one baluster from our home improvement store, cut it in half, painted it, and then using some wood glue we adhered square wood blocks to the tops and bottoms.
I used some Valspar crackle glaze to give the candlesticks a shabby chic feel. The paint underneath is a light greenish-blue. Then the layer of crackle glaze, and then the top layer of Tattered Angels DIY and Decor paint in Crystal white.
I have battery candles displayed on my candlesticks. I love that they are timed so I dont have to even think about turning them on.
These candlesticks make a stunning dining room centerpiece!
