I had this old writing desk that needed some TLC. I loved the color of the original stain, but there was some patching that had previously been done on the top veneer that wouldn't look good for the background of my stained design. So, I opted for painting this desk.
I used Velvet Finishes paints. These paints are fabulous. The sheen is wonderful, and they are a no strip, no sand, no wax paint! LOVE! You can find more about these paints here: http://www.velvetfinishes.com/shop.html

And if you use the coded AUG16COM, you will get 20% off their color of the month, Enchanting!
I used Timeless on the whole desk. For the top, I used a variety of glazes using Opulent, Rococo, and Prestigious.
Now for the fun part! I started my staining technique on the desk top. I used the Penny Farthing high step bike. This first layer, I had to keep light and without detail, as the real highlight of the table will be the next layer.
