Permanent Place for My Herbs

Silvan Johnson
by Silvan Johnson
I expanded my herbs from small pots to larger, in the ground cut down 55 gallon drums. We have had chives, oregano, thyme and sage the come back in their pots year after year, so I decided to give them some room to grow....and boy are they!
Last year's oregano
Last year's Thyme
Hubby cutting down a barrel
In the ground, filled with a mixture of potting soil and our own compost.
A month later ABUNDANCE!
Harvesting some Sage, Oregano, Rosemary and Thyme to dry
Ready to hang
Trying it in a bag and out of the bag....we'll see which works best!
