Repurposing sugar bags

I have two Domino 25 lb sugar bags that are heavy duty plastic coated. I'm looking for ideas on how to use them in kitchen decor other than framing them. I thought of wrapping them around a wastebasket or milk cans but I'm brain dead and need ideas please!

Hey Sheila! Would you want to cut it up and make a decorative item, like a flower with it? That way, it keeps the "feel" but in a different form. Similar to what this Hometalker did with licence plates http://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/rooms/flowers-that-never-die-19616428?

Great idea! I have an artistic friend who's mind I need to tap too - she can visualize things my brain can't! Thanks for your reply!

Their plastic coating would make them ideal for a backsplash . You might also want to use them like wallpaper for a tray or caddy for picnic items.

I used the plastic coated large dog food bags and made gardening aprons out of them. They are heavy enough to cut and actually sew apron ties (ribbon) on to use as waterproof aprons - and if they get dirty, they can be hosed off. I used the smaller bags to make cheap disposable baby bibs to keep on hand for my seven grandchildren, and when they get older I plan on using the bags for waterproof art aprons for them.

If your handy with a sewing machine you can make them into large purses or overnite bags for kids, they are VERY sturdy. I have a couple made out of chicken feed bags that I use every day as a purse. I believe there are pictures of some bags made out of t feed bags at a "Wind Bags", a group that makes them in Oregon at a windmill powered facility. Love mine!!!!! For smaller durable plastic bags I cut the zip lock off the top, roll the top down a couple of times and hand stitch around the edge and use them to put wet items in at the grocery store, i.e. lettuce. They are open ended so the cashiers can pull produce out to weigh and pop back in the bag.

I too use them for bags. I make the bottom flat and put handles on them for grocery bags. Have even given some away to friends.

They keep frozen foods frozen - make into insulated carrier by adding velcro closure and webbing for handles

Carole your idea really appeals, it was the first thing that came into my head when I first looked at the photos. I could see them with peasm runner beans or sweet peas. What a raft off great ideas, terrific crafters nothing is wasted, thank you.
