Looking for crisp and cool bed sheets. Can anyone help me?

Kimberly Barney on Aug 06, 2013If you want sheets like our grandmothers used to have hanging out on the line, try Vermont Country Store. There are moisture wicking sheets now for menopausal women that stay cool which are sold by As We Change. Other than that, I like the sheets sold by Sleep Number. They are specifically made for thick mattresses, too.Helpful Reply

Shari on Aug 06, 2013It's hard to recommend sheets because everyone's expectations are different and there are different definitions of what constitutes "good" sheets. I've bought cheap sheets with low thread counts and had mixed feelings. I've also bought expensive sheets with high thread counts and mostly been disappointed, feeling they weren't worth the money. About a year ago, I bought 300-thread count, cotton-rich/polyester blend sheets from JCPenney's and they are the first sheets I've been really happy with in a long time. I was afraid being partly polyester they might retain body heat but I have found them to be cool. I would also describe them as crisp. They have held up extremely well to weekly washing and bleaching. Best yet, they don't cost an arm and a leg. The price has gone up since I bought mine ($40.00 for a King set!) but they are still very reasonably priced and they are actually on sale right now. Overall, they have very good reviews, although I did notice some of the recent reviewers were not too pleased. (Hopefully, they haven't drastically changed these sheets because I'd like to eventually order more.) Gill on Aug 10, 2013doesn't percale contain Polyester? Look for pure Egyptian cotton (not sateen...too soft) the higher the thread count the better. Sheets for my king sized bed cost well over $300 in Australia.Helpful Reply
