Driving home one night we came across this vanity in someone’s trash. The drawers need some repair and it was missing it’s mirror, but other than that is was solid. Because it was once a vanity it was really to short to be used as it was, so we turned it into an awesome kitchen island.
First my husband fixed all the drawers and added 2 shelves in the middle where your feet would have gone.

Next he added some old barn beams to raise the height and a bottom shelf. Finally he put on a new back and added wheels.
I mixed a custom color using Kristi Kuehl Pure Home Paint & Finishes chalk paint, and painted the body. I did some layering using Golden Rule and Barn Door just on the top.
The final step was the Sable Glaze, because all Kristi Kuehl Pure Home Paint & Finishes are non-toxic and food safe, this was the perfect finish for this kitchen island.
