Saturday Sparks – Window Boxes

Window boxes are like the jewelry or eye shadow for your home’s windows. I love beautiful window boxes, but I struggle each year to make my boxes look like the gorgeous inspirational photos I see everywhere. Thankfully, our new home is situated so that the flowers get relief from the harsh afternoon/evening sun (something my last house didn’t offer). As a result, I need to water less and my windows are looking quite nice with a simple planting of red, white and green.
So today is all about beautiful window boxes. As you will see, some offer a variety of colors, while others stick to a more neutral pallet. Some planters are not even boxes at all but simple pots all in a row. You can get as creative and eclectic as you could ever want to be or choose to keep it very traditional. I hope you draw a bit of inspiration from today’s spark and get some great ideas on how to adorn your home with a splash of color on your window sills.
My window boxes are enjoying the mild summer.

Too many window boxes have all upright plants, without the great spillover you have there.

@Sharon No problem. I always put the white trailing Bacopa in all my window boxes. It's affordable, easy to grow and will fill out as the summer goes on. Happy shopping!
