Window redo in the shower?

Have a home with a window in the shower. What's the easiest way to repair the wood around the window? The sill was tiled but it's coming off. I don't have AC so closing off the window isn't an option.

Two ways to handle this. Replace the window with a glass block window with a vent. They also have acrylic block the looks like glass block. The other solution is to remove the wood trim and sill. Replace it with PVC trim and caulk .

Home depor has fiber glass or hard vinyl window sill. Cut it to size you need.

Before you try to repair it in any way, make sure you don't have any leakage behind the tiles. We had neighbors who had a real mess to repair when they discovered the entire wall below the window had gotten wet from the shower water getting in. :-( If you determine all's well, then you can continue to find the best way to repair

Trex is the best solution! I also have windows in my showers and resolved this issue by using Trex board for the windowsill and trim. I chose a coordinating color of Trex and it didn't need painting. It's been 5 years now and it looks great! A designer had advised using Trex, but I insisted that the remodelers use it since it wasn't something they had done before. No maintenance needed now. Good luck!

Azek product is a waterproof trim available. You may not get the grooved look of the window trim, but you can trim it out in a craftsman trim look. HD and Lowes also has their own brand of PVC trim. You might want to replace the window with a window that can withstand moisture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7kFo31NYx8

Remove all the wood and tile from around the window. Make sure that there's no mold or rotted wood on the structural framing. You can replace the wood with plastic wood trim that you can find at Lowe's or Home Depot. Use cement board at the base of the window with a plastic underliner for protecting the wood framing. Add your tile and finish.
