I'm attempting to create a mosaic vanity for my master bath.

unsure about using mdf. of course, I will seal it before but after but the man at Home Depot said not to use it around water. was think hardi board but never used that before! any suggestions would be appreciated!

For the counter top you need to use 3/4 inch plywood. Attach green board to this, using mastic. You will also need to screw the green board to the plywood using special screws. I got this information from a tile installer I used to work for. Be sure to seal the grout.

Hope you haven't completed your project. The 'green board' should read 'cement board'.
