Hand-built Herringbone Console Table

I built our entryway console table to be skinny and tall. It's low profile takes up little space in our 600 square foot apartment, but creates a landing space for mail, loose change, and some thrifted and farmer's market decor. :)

My daughter and I glued 1x2 blocks I cut together and framed it with leftover wood.
My 3 year old helper and I stained each zig-zag section before washing over the entire piece with a dark walnut stain.
