Can You Help Me ID This Arkansas Tree? Scientific Name Would Be Great!

    Looks like a flowering locust or some type of elm. The leaf clusters look more like elm, but they don't have typical elm ridges.

    This would be a lot easier if you had it in bloom! (But I don't think that is a locust leaf.)

    It's probably some species of Fraxinus, which is Ash. Sorry, not up on anything more helpful as in species or variety, there are just so many. Although, now that I look at it again, that almost looks like Sambucus flower stalks with a berry on it, which is Elderberry. Hm. Sorry.

    Contact your local extension office. The agent should be able to identify the tree for you. You may need to take in some pictures and some leaf samples, but they have great resources and experts on tap.

    I do believe it is a Black Elderberry Tree (Sambucus nigra)

    It does look like an elderberry..wonderful for your immune system.Its been called the Medicine tTee of the common people.Its an antioxidant protection and helps with cellular health.

    I've only seen elderberry bushes, but first thought was that someone pruned a hugely overgrown bush! I'd love an elderberry tree in my yard---but berries too high!
