Not sure what kind of bug this is, we seem to have over 4 different types of bees in our gardens this yr. & then there is this one?

firefly I have those on my parsley. I welcome them cuz I enjoy watching fireflies at nights.

My Fireflies are black but this has the stripes of a bee on the tail of it & is orange!

Do they bite or sting? And are they considered a good bug for gardens? This is the 1st yr we've had them.
