My crab apple tree is blooming, again!

I have never ever encountered this. I did not take photos, but our crab apple tree is almost ready to pick. Jelly time! Im making hot pepper and crab apple jelly, YUM! Anyway, the tree is starting to get more large clusters of beautiful pink blossoms! The hummingbirds love it. This is strange! It is not supposed to bloom in August! I have no idea why it is. has anyone else seen this happen, ever?

Some combination of climatic factors has told your tree to bloom again. I've never seen it, but here's a blog report of it happening, also in August: http://greenwalks.wordpress.com/2010/08/14/confused-crabapple/
