I saw a lot of potential in our kitchen when we bought our house & the cabinets were in great shape! I decided paint the cabinets & add some charm. I hired a finish carpenter to build a hood, pantry/cabinet doors & move some existing cabinets around to get maximum use of our whole kitchen. He added corner lazy Susan's to make use of our dead/inaccessible space & brought the whole look together with solid surface counters, a marble farmhouse sink & new backsplash. I ended up going with the Rustoleum Cabinet Kit, I had heard great reviews & now it's months later & I'm very happy with how it's holding up. The painting was simple, just took lots of patience! We spent about $9,000 on labor, all materials & counters. Not bad for a whole new kitchen!

Space was very tight, corners we inaccessible & our silverware drawer would hit our dishwasher handle.

All doors had to come off & labeled for painting, I followed the kits instructions almost exactly. The only difference is that I felt it needed 3 coats instead of 2.

I had the carpenter build a decorative hood for above the stove for a custom look, along with new molding on the tops & bottoms of all the cabinets.

Bumped out peninsula & centered sink to the window. Corner cabinets we also added. Also added character with the spindles & plate racks. This was a cheaper option then going with glass display doors & I love them!

Look online for savings! My sink was $2,500 locally & I ordered it online from a kitchen & bath store in Ohio for $1,000, free shipping!

I got the Rustoleum kit in Linen. (It is on the whiter side, if you want cream go darker) I was able to use only one kit for the whole kitchen with 3 coats each side of the door, 28 doors/drawers. Every morning for about 2 weeks I would wake up, put a coat on all doors, come home after work & put another coat on before bed.

Love your end product! Well done. What type of molding did you use on the bottom of the cabinets? I need to do something and I can't tell from the pictures but it looks great!
