Solar lights and batteries

I have solar lights that have butterflies and flowers on the top of a rod that has a solar panel. My question is can a replace the AA battery with regular batteries or do I need to buy the expensive re-chargeable ones.

by the way I have found an excellent price on rechargeable's at big lots. They usually at least last the summer..but otherwise the cost of rechargeable's as you said are really high

If they are regular size AA batteries, wait until the Dollar Tree/Store has them in stock again and buy them FOR the batteries :). I personally bought rechargeable batteries because they'll last for years on my solar lights.

They have to be rechargeable batteries so the sun can recharge them each day.
