Do you love the look of a Mason Jar and how many looks and ideas it can be transformed into? We know its nothing new but its fun to put your own twist on it and see what you can do!
Empty mason jars stored in the cupboard.
First step was putting some metallic paint on them a couple of coats, let that dry overnight at least I did. I wanted to see if I liked the metallic on its own, but I didn't. So I made the decision to put chalk paint on them, when I distressed them the look of metallic came through!
Chalk paint can fix things when you don't like something, I wasn't really sure where this was going at this point to be honest. Lets face it not all D I Y'S turn out the way we want them to, at least mine don't.
I waxed them, and distressed them a little bit. They needed something more so I printed off free chalk board looking prints to my liking, with the quotes on them. I sized them in my printer before I printed them off to fit the front side of my jar, wanting it to look like a label . I took MOD PODGE and glued them on the front and waited until they were dry and applied a coat on top of the print as well.
Here is the finished out come!
I went to my backyard and cut some Hydrangeas love these flowers in anything!
I made a simple vignette for my dining table !
They would be nice at Christmas with some greenery in them as well!
These are the materials I used, go to Pinterest and print off any free prints to your liking!

I personally have never seen a painted jar that I like. Its own petina is beautiful. Also once you paint them you can never use them to CAN in again. The beauty of an old antique jar is just awesome. Don't ruin that look!
