Douglas Hunt on Aug 16, 2013I think they would be good together color wise but I'm not sure the bloom times would work. If you're talking about bearded iris, mine were always pretty much finished before my daylilies started blooming (in the Hudson Valley, zone 5).Helpful Reply

Peg on Aug 17, 2013as Doug said, they have different bloom times. Irises are usually done by the time the daylilies start blooming.Helpful Reply

Jonna Austin on Aug 17, 2013Absolutely agree; in the Texas Panhandle they would never bloom together, even with late iris and early daylilys. Your color scheme would be lovely, tho....you could go ahead and plant (give yourself a good bit of space; both species spread and require division after awhile) but just know your iris will bloom first and then your daylilies.Helpful Reply
