ROCKSTAR TURTLE
This engaging and vibrant rockstar turtle kids crafting activity is a fantastic way to harness creative thinking and imagination. It’s also a brilliant exercise in fine motor skills as well as improving scissor skills, glueing and sticking. There are a great many different ways to enjoy this craft and almost endless ways that your little one can decorate the turtle, too.
Turtles are endangered animals and this craft is a fun way to incorporate discussions around nature, the environment, where turtles live, how we can help to protect them and their habitat. This is a fun craft to create alongside a book-reading session about turtles or even about creatures who live in the sea, given the added context, vocabulary and visual impact.
My son loves turtles as well as music and dancing and so we came up with the idea of having a rockstar turtle with a bright, shiny shell and cool glittery sunglasses. We love our googly eyes and had to incorporate this into the craft- meaning that our rockstar turtle does look a bit more like a bandit than a rockstar… but you get the idea!
This craft is also a great way to reuse paper bowls/plates from birthday parties or picnics and allows kids to see a practical way to repurpose and recycle objects to make new ones.
