New Life for Some Drawers

This dresser is getting used quite a bit.
So far one drawer has been turned into a display rack, now I have taken two more of them and made them into something else, with lots of help by Dave the hubby!!
I intend to turn the cabinet into something else and keep one of the drawers, and since they are so sturdy, figured why not take the other tywo and make a bookcase.
I told Dave my idea and asked him if he would join them together for me.

Next thing I know,he is making strips to cover the joins and some feet as well.

He laid the drawers on their back rears, got out some long wood screws, and put them together.
Here is how they looked before.

This was made out of pallet wood,so I think I will have to try to keep as much of that look as possible.
Check out his shop pants......................LOL................he won't let me throw them away.
Next thing I know,I come back and he has put some thin strips on the fronts to hide the joins using some thin strips he cut off from a 4 x 4 he had.

He attached them using wood glue and screws.
Here he is trying to figure out which piece of wood would make a better foot.
After picking the wood out,he measured the front to back, cut the piece to fit and screwed it into place.
I had originally painted the faces of the drawers baby blue when they were still going to be a dresser, but now that she is a bookcase,I will leave it as is,so it is now blue on top and bottom.

I will give it a light sand and maybe a light coat of poly.

In all, from concept to finish was about an hour and a half.

He did a GREAT job.
